Make The Most Of Your Trip With A Port Phillip Bay Fishing Map

By Lenore Bolton

Australia is know for a great many things, but certainly the sea and its bountiful creatures is one of the most widely known. While sharks get a lot of the attention, for many nations that consume seafood, the variety of available delicious eating species are a close second. Using a Port Phillip Bay fishing map, the avid and aspiring angler can make an surf outing into a dream vacation come true.

The geographically protected waters off the capital city are prime spawning grounds for snapper. Recent revelations about their breeding habits has allowed regulatory agencies to act to help protect them. It is now known they begin to spawn in huge groups known as aggregates when the water reaches a little over 18 degrees Celsius, which usually occurs in the month of November.

The large tidal basin off Melbourne provides a large spawning area, and fishery management has placed restrictions on snapper from mid November through December to keep fishing activities from interrupted the spawning. As a result, there has been a year after year bumper crop of these widely sought species. There is also an active program to place artificial reefs to further promote fish spawning in many species.

The tidal lagoon are important to the overall protection and nurturing of fish stocks by its unique topography. Many species spend their adult lives in the open oceans around the continent, but seek calmer waters for spawning. Snapper spawn in enormous groupings releasing and fertilizing them in open water, so the calmer protected waters of the deep lagoon are ideal.

A recent assessment of the pilot reef program reveals much success, so it will continue, and is combined with a program stocking the waters with salmon and other species. By keeping the environment clean and fish friendly, and helping support the volume and variety of species everyone wins. Nature has a safe place for biodiversity to flourish, and humans can continue to indulge in fishing for sport and consumption.

For those seeking to catch them for sport or consumption, the wide variety and reported quantities are an automatic draw. But with such a large and deep lagoon, it is not a sure thing that one will be successful. Planning and, of course, a little luck are the mainstays of any angling adventure.

Even of one lives along the shores, finding the so-called sweet spot for each species is a difficult endeavor, as the tidal lagoon is large enough and temperature and turbulence are different year to year. Having the knowledge of where fishes congregate at specific times is helpful. Local knowledge is clearly an advantage the novice or tourist does not have.

If one wants to have the experience of a life-time with a few buddies and strike out on your own, there are two smart ways to approach the effort. The group should get to know some of the people who live in the area and take good notes as they explain where the best spots are. The more certain way is to procure a Port Phillip Bay fishing map, so the data is with you all day.

The next time you are looking for a great place to stay on a very cool island, then we think you will like Nautibeach Condos as much as we did.

Our stay recently at Nautibeach Condos was amazing and very exciting!

Located on North Beach on Isla Mujeres, in the Mexican Caribbean and my wife and I loved our stay there.

We had a condo on the 2nd level with a nice view of Caribbean water and the pool.

We especially enjoyed on-site restaurant where we had break, lunch and dinner. IT is the Sunset Grill and ach meal was very good, and very hard to beat the view of this place. What a great way to start each day and end each evening in the tropical, Mexican setting and we sat there for hours and hours.

Not only could we swim in the sea on the beautiful Playa Norte, but we would also use the pool, that has a swim up bar and the pool itself is extra large. The pool is for use only by the guests, so you will not need to worry that other tourists will be using the pool.

On Playa Norte, there are not many different choices to stay and we looked at some of them for future visits, but we would highly recommend staying at Nautibeach as it seems as though it had all we were looking for: a nice beach with a great restaurant and super views. It sure didn't hurt that the weather was perfect all the time.

We stayed in one of the Two Bedroom Deluxe Condos - these are the best units they offer and we were very pleased with our decision to spend a little extra for it. The Two Bedroom Regular Condos are very nice, but we were OK with paying a little bit more for the upgraded condo.

This property seemed very safe to us and not once did we not feel safe. They have a guy at the entrance gate all the time and that really helped. You also need to go past their main office to get up to any of the condos and we think that helped us to feel even more safe.

Each night we would sit outside and watch the sunset from our deck equipped with 4 nice chairs and table. we also enjoyed waking up each morning and sipping on a cup of coffee and watched the day begin. Each unit is decorated by the owner, and each unit is owned by a different owner, so it is interesting to see how each unit is tastefully decorated and they are uniquely done.

We always enjoyed strolling around the manicured grounds and it seems like they sure spend a lot of time making sure everything is so nice. There are so many different kinds of tropical plants and we thought that was pretty cool, and we felt like we were in a different world and loved it.

This property is actually located in centro where most of the best restaurants on the island are. We thought it was hard to decide where to eat and they were all so close we could walk to them easily.

Enjoy your stay!

Planning Your Family Vacation

By Robert Trivett

Many families don't go on vacation because planning them is simply too stressful and time consuming. But, if you can plan your vacation following a few simple tips, you will find that the planning itself can be a lot of fun, and your family will love getting involved in the preparations. You shouldn't give up on going on vacation, as long as you plan the right way.

First of all, try to figure out how much time you can take off work and school, and which time of year it will be possible to go. This will affect how far you can go and where you will be able to travel to because of weather and other considerations. As an example, if you can only vacation for four days, going all the way to Australia would not be a good idea, but maybe you and your family can go to a beach in Florida where you can relax together.

What can you afford?

Figuring out how much you can spend is certainly very important. Once you know how much time you have, knowing how much you can spend can help you plan a good vacation. If you have three weeks available, but you can only spend a limited amount of money, traveling to Europe might not be the best option. Being clear on how much you can spend can make a huge difference on your trip, since you will be able to relax and have fun without worrying about spending too much. If your budget is really tight, you can still drive a short distance and enjoy a nearby attraction with your family.

Once you have decided how much time you can go for, and how much you can afford to spend, it is time to decide the type of activities your family will enjoy. If everyone in your family is older and capable you might want to think about an adventure type vacation. However, if your kids are still young theme parks, beaches, and camping are great ideas. Remember that your vacation doesn't have to be fancy, just has to be something that is age and level appropriate for the whole family. If you are not sure about your options, find something the youngest person in the family will enjoy, and everyone else can have fun around that.

Planning your vacation following this order will ensure that you are clear about several things before you make reservations. If you get the whole family involved in planning you might need to take votes or there may be need to be some executive decisions by parents, but overall this is a very straight forward way to plan a family vacation.
